FERGUS – The Upper Grand District School Board has approved the new boundary for the new Elementary School being built in Fergus.
The new school that will accommodate 328 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8, is being built at Kirvan Street and Elliot Avenue East, within the Fergus’ Storybrook subdivision.
At Tuesday’s board meeting, option 3 boundary area was approved, which will include the area east of Beatty Line North, including homes along Side Road 19, and the subdivision north of Side Road 10, west of St. David Street North.
Parents can find out if they are affected by the boundary by typing their postal code in on an online map.
The board also approved that for the 2025/2026 school year, students entering Grade 8 at Elora Public School, but now live outside the new boundary, can stay at the school. In addition, their siblings in grades 4-7 can also have the option of staying at Elora Public School.
According to the UGDSB, the new school is on track to open in September for the 2025/2026 school year.
