NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest and charge two suspects in relation to a shoplifting investigation.
On March 24, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of an in-progress theft at a local retailer on St David Street North within the Town of Fergus. It was reported that two individuals were attempting to shoplift approximately over $1,300 worth of items with no attempt to pay and proceeded to flee the area when police arrived. Both individuals were located and arrested without incident.
A 32-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting
- Unlawfully in dwelling house
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on April 29, 2025.
A 27-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft under $5000 – Shoplifting
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on May 2, 2025.
