CENTRE WELLINGTON – On March 28, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle driving in an erratic manner. Officers arrived in the area, located the motor vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Rea Drive in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old man of Fergus is charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operate Motor Vehicle-no insurance
- Driving Motor Vehicle with open container of liquor
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 45-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph on April 11, 2025.
