FERGUS- Get ready to embrace the town’s Scottish heritage this Sunday, as downtown Fergus celebrates National Tartan Day! The streets will come alive with the sounds of bagpipes as the Fergus Pipe Band and Grand Celtic Pipe Band roam through town, creating a truly authentic Scottish atmosphere.
From 11 AM to 5 PM, families can enjoy a variety of activities behind the library, including McKiddies games hosted by the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Highland Rugby Club demonstrations, and a special “Play with Clay” tent. The Blue Bonnet Lassies will perform traditional Highland dances along the Riverwalk at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM.
Local establishments are joining in the celebration with live Celtic music throughout the day, featuring performances by Povertys Arse at the Goofie Newfie, James Campbell at The Breadalbane, and more. Don’t miss the Historical Walking Tour at 2 PM, starting at the Theatre, where you can discover the rich Scottish heritage that shaped Fergus into the town it is today.
