GUELPH – A Brampton man has been arrested following an investigation by the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit.
Earlier this year, officers began investigating a male believed to be actively trafficking controlled substances in Guelph and the surrounding area.
On Tuesday, police said the male was arrested as he exited his vehicle in the south end of Guelph.
Two packages of cocaine and a quantity of cash were located following his arrest. Officers obtained a search warrant for the male’s home, which was searched Tuesday afternoon.
As a result of the searches, officers recovered approximately $4,000 worth of cocaine, $16,000 in cash, and an airsoft pistol.
Police say a 32-year-old Brampton man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000.
