CENTRE WELLINGTON – While the venue may be shifting for this summer’s Team Addy Family Fun Day and 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the message remains the same.
Moving to the University of Guelph’s Athletic Centre, the event will look to support a great cause and continue to share Addy’s love, says her mother Jessica Hill.
Addison Hill of the Celtics basketball team and a beloved member of the community, battled a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma and passed away in July of 2022.
Since, Jessica and Team Addy have raised money through several community events.
Hill noted the shift in location was due to high demand.
Team Addy and Hill say they are thankful to Centre Wellington for helping the event grow and supporting a great cause.
Calling the move “bittersweet,” Hill explains the event will look a little different in the new space.
Hill went on to say this fundraising event will be another effort to raise money for research on the rare form of cancer.
The family fun day is set for July 12th this summer. It was previously hosted at Centre Wellington District High School.
