GUELPH – Recorded at a studio in Belwood, The J-Strokes’ new album is a seven-song, alt-rock infused collection of original music. On April 17th, the band will headline a release party show at Sonic Hall in Guelph.
The band features recognizable figures Centre Wellington family doctor Doug Roach and Wellington County engineer Don Kudo.
Bassist Kudo explains when the group, also featuring members Mike Sharp and Brad Holy, step into the spotlight, they will bring a robust sound to attendees.
Trumpet and saxophone, Kudo says, will round out the band’s sound at the gig.
He went on to explain Roach’s dedication to music and the band is very admirable.
This is the first album of original cuts from The J-Strokes. Kudo noted the night will see more than just the album’s original material on an evening he is very excited for.
The album, Kudo explains, has county roots as far as where it came to life.
Original music takes a lot of time and effort, said Kudo, but he says he feels the most satisfaction out of getting to perform it.
Doors will be at 7, Mighty Speed at 8, Kudo and The J-Strokes at 9 p.m. Tickets can be found online at sonichall.ca
