MEDIA RELEASE CHILDRENS FOUNDATION GUELPH WELLINGTON
Guelph and Wellington County, ON – April 9, 2025 – Every child deserves the chance to just be a kid; making bracelets, playing games, singing camp songs, and making new friends – summer memories that last a lifetime. But for many families in Guelph and Wellington County, the cost of camp is simply out of reach. That’s why the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington is thrilled to launch the 2025 Kids to Camp campaign, helping send local kids to camp so they can experience all the magic and adventure summer has to offer. But we need your help! Donate to Help Send Kids to Camp!
The 2025 campaign gets an extra boost thanks to Skyline, our generous presenting sponsor, who is matching all donations made between April 7-25, up to $25,000. Which means every gift will go twice as far in giving children the opportunity to grow, learn, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
“At Skyline, we recognize the challenges many families face and strongly believe in our responsibility to actively support the communities we serve,” said R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline. “Through partnerships with dedicated organizations like the Children’s Foundation, we amplify our collective impact, ensuring more children have access to valuable experiences like summer camp, fostering growth, confidence, and lifelong memories.”
Last year, the Children’s Foundation helped over 350 children attend summer camp, and anticipate an increased volume this year. As of April 1st, the Foundation has said “yes!” to over 100 kids to attend camp this coming summer, with new applications being received daily. Donations make a direct impact, with every $200 raised helping send a child to camp for a week.
Every dollar donated to the Kids to Camp campaign directly funds camp opportunities for local children, making a tangible difference in their lives.
