GUELPH – Guelph Police is investigating after a report was received of a resident being led to believe they owed money for a government loan.
On Thursday, at around 5 pm, police say, an unknown male knocked at the victim’s door, stating they owed $4,500 on a loan they had taken from the government.
Before the victim could respond, the male entered the residence and sat at the kitchen table, refusing to leave until the victim gave him a cheque for the above-mentioned amount.
Police say the male left the residence and was seen leaving in a white 2-door Toyota car.
The male was described as a white male, 5’4”, having black bushy hair and wearing jeans and a black jacket with white lettering/logo “AC”.
