CENTRE WELLINGTON – The commencement of Phase 2 works for the reconstruction of St. David Street North (Highway No. 6) will begin on April 14. This phase will extend from 50 meters north of Garafraxa Street to Edinburgh Avenue.
To address concerns about traffic during construction, traffic calming measures will be implemented starting this week to help reduce cut-through traffic on neighboring streets. These measures include:
Removable speed humps
- Flexible bollards
- “Slow Down” signs
- “No Truck” signs
The project will initially focus on the section between Garafraxa Street and Bergin Avenue, to minimize disruption to businesses on the north side of the project limits.

The contractor will aim to complete as much work as possible in this area before moving on to the final section from Bergin Avenue to Edinburgh Avenue.
Updates on access, traffic calming, and detour signage will be available at www.connectcw.ca/stdavidstreet.
