NEWS RELEASE GRAND RIVER CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
Community groups and elementary schools can now apply for funding through Community Conservation Grants program offered by the Grand River Conservation Authority and Grand River Conservation Foundation.
Grants are available to both community groups and elementary schools within the Grand River watershed. Community groups can receive up to $1,000 for conservation projects that benefit the entire community and elementary schools can receive up to $750 to cover the costs for schoolyard naturalization projects.
Applications for both grants must be submitted electronically by Friday, May 9, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified in late May.

Money for the grants comes from two sources:
- The GRCA’sĀ Thiess Riverprize Endowment Fund, which was established with the monetary portion of the GRCA’s 2000 Brisbane, Australia award for excellence in watershed management.
- The GRCF’s Grand Champions Endowment Fund, established through private donations to support local environmental work.
