NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(GUELPH, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Guelph resident with stunt driving.
On April 20, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which led to a traffic stop being initiated on the Hanlon Parkway North within the City of Guelph.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old from Guelph is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
- Fail to surrender insurance card
- Fail to notify change of address
Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.
