FERGUS – Construction on Hill Street East in Fergus has begun.
According to the townships Connect CW website, the work extends from Herrick Street and Gartshore Street.
The project includes a new road, curb, and sidewalk, replacement of the existing watermain and sanitary sewer, as well as installation of a new storm sewer that will eliminate ditches and culverts on Hill Street East.
The township says during construction, Hill Street East between Herrick St and Gartshore St will be closed to through traffic during construction.
“In general, local access to properties will be maintained, however, short-duration restrictions may occur from time to time based on construction activities. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Whenever possible, advance notice will be provided by the contractor in the event access to your property will be temporarily affected,” the Connect CW website said.
It is anticipated that the construction work will be completed by October 2025.
