GUELPH – A Rockwood man faces an impaired driving charge following a traffic stop Friday afternoon.
At around 4:25pm, Guelph Police were patrolling on Gordon Street near Clairfields Drive when he was flagged down by another motorist who pointed out a possible impaired driver.
The officer followed the car and determined its permit was expired and it appeared to be uninsured.
Police say the car was pulled over and the driver showed signs of impairment. Testing at the police station confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 27-year-old Rockwood man is charged with impaired driving and driving without insurance. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
