GUELPH – A Guelph man faces drug charges following a search of a Guelph home early Wednesday morning.
Earlier this spring, the Guelph Police Drug Enforcement Unit began an investigation into a male allegedly trafficking controlled substances.
At around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, police say two men were arrested near Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North. One was later released unconditionally.
Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment in the area and recovered approximately $4,000 worth of suspected cocaine and fentanyl as well as drug paraphernalia.
A 56-year-old Guelph man is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of breaching probation and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
The male was held for a bail hearing.
