CENTRE WELLINGTON – Do you know of a tree growing in Centre Wellington that holds a special place in your heart? Maybe it’s beautiful, impressively large, unusual or senior. The Tree Trust organization wants to know about it in their Tree of the Year contest.
The Tree Trust aims to showcase the beauty, diversity, and significance of trees in our community. Through this annual contest, now in its third year, the goal is discover all kinds of trees underscoring the diversity of trees in our urban canopy.
To nominate a tree,submit a photo or drawing along with a short description of why it deserves to be crowned “Tree of the Year.”
One tree will be selected by a panel of judges and the winning tree will be honoured on September 20. One entry will also be drawn at random for a $100 gift card to Magic Pebble Books. It will also be recognized at the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce Awards of Excellence next year.
New this year, the winner will be a finalist in the Provincial Tree Pageant representing Centre Wellington.
