ERIN – The Town of Erin is gearing up to celebrate its fabulous public works staff at the annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, May 24 at Town Hall.
Join the Town and its community partners in celebrating National Public Works Week, with a family-friendly display of vehicles, children’s activities, treats and more.
This is an opportunity to meet public works staff, learn about the work they do to maintain local roadways, and even sit inside some of the big trucks and heavy equipment.
“Erin’s public works department provides a critical service to our community, keeping roadways safe in sun, rain or snow, and everything in between,” said Brian Kavanagh, Director of Infrastructure Services and Town Engineer. “We can’t thank them enough for what they do.”
Community partners, including the Ontario Clean Water Agency, Wellington County Emergency Management, Erin Fire and Emergency Services and more will also be on site with displays.
See the extensive display of student artwork depicting staff in the Town’s National Public Works Week art contest and even pick up a shirt sporting the winning artwork. Shirts will be available in a range of adult and children’s sizes and can be purchased for $15 each, cash only.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at 5684 Trafalgar Rd., Hillsburgh. Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for East Wellington Community Services.
