NEWS RELEASE TOWN OF ERIN
ERIN — The Town of Erin is asserting its commitment to both local businesses and residents through its recently adopted Economic Development Strategic Plan.
The plan is a roadmap for fostering economic prosperity at a time when the Town is experiencing significant residential growth, focusing on attracting new investment, supporting and retaining current businesses, and building infrastructure to help both residents and businesses thrive.
“This strategy reflects the spirit and ambition of our community,” said Rob Adams, Chief Administrative Officer of the Town of Erin. “It’s a thoughtful and action-oriented plan that balances growth with sustainability, and positions Erin as a place where businesses can thrive alongside our residents. It will guide our efforts to create a prosperous, vibrant, and resilient local economy that honours our rural roots while embracing future opportunities.”
The plan has four main pillars: Investment Attraction, Infrastructure Improvements, Business Retention and Expansion and Vibrant Community.
The Economic Development team is now working on several critical projects to attain goals in these areas, including developing an Employment Lands Inventory, revitalizing downtown spaces, and expanding broadband coverage and visitor amenities.
This plan, developed through an environmentally responsible lens, also focuses on supporting green technologies and initiatives.
An investment attraction marketing campaign will also be developed following a target sector study, with a focus on industries that align with the Town’s economic strengths and opportunities.
“This document lays out a concrete and attainable plan to ensure our Town flourishes in the coming years, while holding dear our values and historic charm, built on a foundation of agricultural excellence,” said Marina Mato, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Erin.
