CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington Fire Rescue has a new educational tool to promote fire prevention and safety awareness to the public.
It’s called a Hazard House, and Deputy Fire Chief Jason Benn says this will be a great public education tool, teaching people of all ages to identify fire hazards, safely store items, and prevent accidents.

Benn approached the Fergus Lions Club after last year’s home show to see if they would contribute to the cost, and President of the club Margaret Murray says it was a straightforward decision for the club to cover the full $18,000.
The hazard house is now on display at the Fergus Lions Home and Leisure Show, today (Wednesday)and tomorrow 5:30pm to 9:30pm at the CW Sportsplex for the public to see.
The fire department says, following the home show, they will begin lining up educational learning sessions with the new Hazard House.
