MEDIA RELEASE TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON
CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township will conduct Annual Watermain Flushing from June 2nd to June 6th.
Over time, naturally occurring minerals in our groundwater can accumulate as sediment in the pipes. Watermain flushing is the process used to remove this sediment from the watermains. This is achieved by forcing high-velocity water through fire hydrants. Watermain flushing enhances water quality, and only clean water is utilized in this process.
To reduce customer inconvenience, watermain flushing operations will take place overnight, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday to Friday.
Water at your home may be discoloured after the watermain cleaning. Customers are advised to fully open their cold-water faucets to flush this water out. In most instances, the water should begin to run clear again within a few minutes. If discoloured water or a pressure drop persists for an extended period, please contact us at 519-846-9691, Ext. 905.
