WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington County is launching a new grant programme this June to boost tourism across the region. The Wellington County Experience Development Programmewill support local tourism businesses and organizations in creating memorable, high-quality visitor experiences that showcase the area’s natural beauty, culinary offerings, cultural richness, and rural charm.
The programme offers grants of up to $3,000 to help develop or enhance market ready tourism experiences that will strengthen Wellington’s position as a destination of choice in Ontario.
“As more Canadians choose to travel domestically, and a lower Canadian dollar encourages visits from North American and international travellers, now is an ideal time to invest in tourism development,” said Warden Chris White, who also serves as Chair of Wellington Waterloo Community Futures. “This programme supports local businesses and organizations ready to deliver exceptional visitor experiences while growing the tourism economy across our communities.”
The programme will prioritize projects that support regional marketing efforts, highlight seasonal or recurring events, and encourage visitors to explore rural areas of the County. Eligible applicants include tourism businesses, non-profit organizations, and events located in Wellington County. Collaborative projects are strongly encouraged.
Applications will be accepted online starting June 3, 2025, with funding available for projects running between July 1, 2025 and March 15, 2026.
More information about the programme, eligibility criteria, and the application process is available at www.wwcf.ca/wctourismgrant or by contacting the County of Wellington’s Economic Development Office.
This grant programme is presented in partnership with the County of Wellington, Wellington Waterloo Community Futures, and RTO4.
