NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance from the public in relation to a sexual assault that occurred just outside of Palmerston on a public trail.
On May 28, 2025, the Wellington OPP Crime Unit launched an investigation after receiving information of a sexual assault that occurred on Whites Junction trail, Palmerston.
On May 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., on Whites Junction trail (North of Palmerston), a lone male suspect confronted the victim on the trail and proceeded to follow them. The suspect asked the victim to have sex for money, while also attempting to grab the victim’s arm. The victim fled without injury and reported the incident to police.
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- 6″0 to 6″2 in height
- Average to thin build
- Clean-shaven
- Long face
- Long nose
- Crooked discoloured teeth
- Wearing a black hoodie with the hood up
- Dark blue jeans
- Running shoes
- Black Oakley sunglasses
- Slow cadence of speech
- Acne scarring on cheeks and forehead.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate as it is believed there may be more victims. If anyone has video surveillance, dashcam footage, or if you observed the suspect, please contact investigators at 1-888-310-1122.
