CENTRE WELLINGTON – A collision in Centre Wellington has resulted in the death of one individual.
On Tuesday morning at around 8:30 am, emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision on Sideroad 11, just west of Elora.
Police say it was described that a dump truck collided with a nearby hydro pole. As a result, Hydro services were also called to the scene.
The driver, a 63-year-old resident of Waterloo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sideroad 11 between Eighth Line West and Arthur Street North was closed as a result of the investigation. The road is was reopened a few hours later.
Police say the identity of the deceased individual will not be released out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting Wellington County OPP with the investigation.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Wellington County OPP.
