NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a Mississauga resident, alongside a business in relation to a traffic stop.
On June 11, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and initiated a traffic stop on Main Street North within Mount Forest.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old from Mississauga is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Defective brakes
- Drive motor vehicle, no permit
Additionally, a business associated to the traffic stop is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance
- Permit operation of unsafe combination of vehicles
- Improper tires – drawn vehicle
- Make a false statement
