BELWOOD – Belwood Hall is due for some upgrades, and an updated price point has them costing the Township of Centre Wellington around $1.85 million.
A budget difference of $960,000-plus is detailed in a report to go before council on Monday.
Staff suggest grant programs and other partnerships, donations and fundraising as well as sponsorship opportunities can fill the funding gap.
Upgrades will include a new “servery” area in the kitchen, entrance upgrades, new washrooms, a stage area, septic work and more. These alternative funding opportunities are proposed to be looked into this summer.
In the schedule laid out in the report, construction is pegged to begin in early 2026.
Staff say community engagement has taken place with various community partners on top of a Mayor’s Town Hall held at the venue.
