WELLINGTON COUNTY – On May 28, 2025, the Municipal Waste Association (MWA) recognized Wellington County’s Solid Waste Services (SWS) with two Promotion and Education (P&E) Awards at their annual Spring Workshop:
• Silver in the Print Tool Category for the Spring/Summer 2024 Newsletter.
• Silver in the Campaign Category, for municipalities under 50,000 households, for the Minimum Waste Fee campaign.
The MWA P&E Awards showcases and celebrates municipal excellence around waste minimization and diversion. Award winners are selected by municipal peers and industry professionals who evaluate submissions for effectiveness, novelty, innovation, value to others, and planning and implementation.
“On behalf of County Council, I would like to congratulate the Solid Waste Services and Communications teams for their continued innovation,” said Steve O’Neill, Solid Waste Services Committee Chair. “It’s an honour for the County to once again be recognized by the Municipal
Waste Association for our education and outreach efforts.”
