NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Fergus resident with two criminal charges, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.
On July 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP, alongside local emergency responders were notified of a single motor vehicle, containing two occupants, landing into a nearby ditch on First Line within Elora.
Both occupants were extracted from the motor vehicle and transported to local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 25, 2025.
