The Township of Centre Wellington is bringing back it’s Community Engagement Strategy, and they want your input.
The strategy will guide how the Township involves residents in future decisions on everything from infrastructure and parks to planning and policy. It’s part of a broader effort to build lasting trust and ensure residents have a meaningful say in local issues that impact their daily lives.
“We know residents haven’t always felt heard,” the Township said in a statement. “This is about doing better—together.”
The Township is encouraging all residents to take part—whether you’ve lived in Centre Wellington for decades or just moved in. Organizers say they’re especially interested in hearing from people who may not usually speak up.
Participation is open now through September 21, 2025, with multiple ways to get involved:
Share your thoughts online at connectcw.ca
Attend coffee chats and lunch talks
Stop by pop-up booths at markets, parks, and events
Host a conversation with friends, family, or neighbours
Invite Township staff to meet with your group
The feedback collected will be used to shape not just the engagement strategy itself, but also a practical action plan and internal staff toolkit. The Township will also draw on best practices from other municipalities across Canada, as well as input from Council and staff.
Once finalized, the strategy is expected to guide how future decisions are made—ensuring community input is heard, valued, and reflected in outcomes.
Centre Wellington defines community engagement as “an intentional process with the purpose of working in inclusive and respectful ways to shape decisions, actions, impacts, or change.” The goal is to move beyond consultation to build lasting relationships between the Township and its residents.
