GUELPH-ERAMOSA – – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident following a single motor vehicle collision. with a tree.
On July 30, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
As a result of the investigation, it was learned that the driver veered across the centre line, entered the opposite ditch and collided with a tree, posing a potential significant risk to others on the roadway. When asked what had occurred, the driver advised they allegedly were reaching for a banana in the front-passenger area and lost control of their vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old from Guelph, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
