CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Fergus resident with a criminal charge stemming from a traffic complaint.
On August 2, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver. Officers quickly attended to the area, located the motor vehicle in question, and performed a traffic stop on Perry Street in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old man of Fergus is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on August 15, 2025.
