ELORA – The Air Canada flight-attendants strike has impacted thousands of travellers this weekend, and that includes touring musicians attempting to get to festivals and concerts, which is why the organizers of Riverfest Elora have had to pivot – quickly – to reorganized their Saturday night festival line-up.
Canadian rockers Yukon Blonde were set to take the Grasslands Stage at 8:25pm, on Saturday, August 16th. But their inability to travel has cancelled their much-anticipated performance at this year’s event.
In their Instagram post, Riverfest Elora explains the switch in line-up, “Our Riverfriends, The Sam Roberts Band are joining today’s lineup, shutting down the Grasslands Stage tonight at 8:25pm. They are filling in for Yukon Blonde who are stuck in Vancouver because of the Air Canada strike. So bummed, but we hope to have our buds back next year. Huge thanks to Sam, Nuge, Eric, Jimmy, Josh and co. for stepping in. We’re all in this together!”
The Sam Roberts Band, from Montreal, were one of the main acts of the 2015 Riverfest Elora festival, making this their second appearance in Elora. They take the Grasslands Stage tonight at 8:25pm.
Saturday passes to Riverfest Elora are still available. For more details and the full festival lineup and schedules, visit riverfestelora.com
