FERGUS – Centre Wellington Fire Rescue is hosting an open house today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fergus fire station on Queen Street. Fire Prevention Officer Christopher Paluch spoke on Swap Talk Tuesday night, saying the event is about much more than just checking out fire trucks.
It’s a family-friendly opportunity for people of all ages to learn about fire prevention and connect with various community partners. Representatives from Wellington County Emergency Management, Crime Stoppers, and the OPP will be on hand to share resources and answer questions.
Visitors can also watch a demonstration on how to properly use a fire extinguisher—an essential skill Paluch says is best learned before an emergency happens. The Fergus Optimist Club will be serving up a BBQ as well.
