BELWOOD – A report going before Centre Wellington Council this evening includes a recommendation for council to approve an application to the Rural Ontario Development Program for the Belwood Hall Renovation Project.
The project aims to upgrade key areas of the facility, including the washrooms, entrance/exterior, main hall, kitchen/servery, and stage area.
According to the report, if approved by council, staff will apply to the Community Infrastructure Enhancements stream.
Staff say this stream offers up to 35% cost-share, with large projects eligible from $25,000 to $250,000.
The Belwood Hall Renovation Project meets the eligibility criteria, and staff recommend applying for the maximum funding amount of $250,000.
If approved by Council, staff will submit an application to Intake 1 for September 24th. If the application is not successful during Intake 1, staff will discuss the potential for reapplying to Intake 2 for February 26th.
Council will consider the recommendation at tonight’s 6pm meeting.
