Fergus’s newest elementary school, Grand River Public School, officially opened its doors today under the Upper Grand District School Board. Located in the growing south end, the school will serve families in the Storybrook, Beatty Hollow, and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Principal Brent Eller says the building has innovative features to support modern learning. Students will enjoy flexible classroom spaces, a new learning commons space, and an eco-friendly design.
The name Grand River Public School was selected after community input. Other names considered included Limestone Ridge, Riverbend, and Storybrook.
