GUEPLH-ERAMOSA – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft-in-progress involving a motor vehicle, resulting in officers attending the area shortly thereafter, locating the suspect, and placing them into custody.
On September 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were on proactive patrol when a report came in of a recently stolen motor vehicle within Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police attended the area and as a result of the investigation, and swift actions by OPP uniform members, a 35-year-old male of Guelph has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
The victim’s motor vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
The accused has been placed into police custody, pending a bail hearing.
