FERGUS – Sarah Shaw of Belwood has been named the 2025-26 Fergus Fall Fair ambassador and was one of four competitors who participated in the Fergus Agricultural Society’s 45th ambassador program held on Sunday at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
Shaw, 22, is a second-generation Fergus Fall Fair ambassador and has been volunteering for the Fergus Agricultural Society alongside her family for most of her life.
She is currently the organization’s volunteer co-ordinator and also volunteers at St. John’s United Church in Belwood.
“In the year-long ambassador role, Shaw will represent the Fergus Agricultural Society at the Fergus Fall Fair and other community events. She will participate in the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies convention and Canadian National Exhibition ambassador program in 2026”, the Fergus Agricultural Society said in a media release.
Emma Vervoort, 17, of Elora, was named runner-up; other contestants were Arielle Baman and Emilia Greulich.
All four participants completed an interview with a panel of judges, created a display board about themselves, presented a speech and answered an impromptu question as part of the competition.
The 188th Fergus Fall Fair, themed Jammin’ at the Fair, runs this weekend from September 12th to 14th.
