CENTRE WELLINGTON – With Thanksgiving around the corner, there is an opportunity to give back.
This Sunday marks the 4th Annual Fergus Porch Pick-Up Food Drive.
750 empty grocery bags will be delivered to porches at select homes in Fergus and Elora.
Jenn Locke says the goal will be to fill these grocery bags with non-perishable food items.
Yasmine, with the Elora Fergus Ringette team, says this time of year, food banks need all the donations they can get.
According to Food Banks Canada, nearly 30% of food banks reported running out of food before demand was met.
Jenn Locke says residents can place their filled grocery bags on their porch by this Sunday, October 5th, at 10 am.
