WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Wellington County Museum and Archives is looking for volunteers to help get the museum grounds ready for Remembrance Day.
Each year, the museum installs over 500 markers on our front lawn to commemorate the contributions of the fallen (from the First World War to Afghanistan) from Wellington County.
In a post to social media on Monday, the museum says it is looking for volunteers to help set up the markers.
“This is a physically demanding task and will require upper body strength, tolerance of repetitive movements (swinging a mallet to drive markers into the ground), and appropriate dress for working outdoors in early November (snow? rain? sunshine?),” the museum said in the post.
Those interested can sign up to volunteer and find out more details from WCMA Assistant Curator, Lindsay Woelfle, at lindsayw@wellington.ca.
