FERGUS – St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Fergus is celebrating 30 years in the community with the opening of a brand-new addition. The school hosted a ceremony this week with students, staff, and local dignitaries to mark the milestone.
Principal Todd Goodwin says the new classrooms were needed to meet the demands of a growing student population. The addition also includes a technology and woodworking room, funded in part by an Ontario Government grant — a feature not often found in elementary schools.
Goodwin says the new woodworking space will also be shared with other schools in the area, giving more students access to hands-on learning.
The celebration included cupcakes, tours, and reflections on three decades of community spirit.
