GUELPH – Guelph Police is investigating after a woman had her necklace stolen during a distraction theft on Tuesday.
A Rockwood woman reported she was shopping at a business on Speedvale Avenue East when she was approached in the parking lot by two people in a grey SUV.
Police say a female passenger exited the vehicle and asked her for directions.
During the interaction the woman offered the victim jewelry and repeatedly tried to hold her hand and hug her.
After the pair left the victim realized her necklace was missing.
Police say the female suspect was described as possibly Indian, shorter than 5’7” with long hair in a ponytail and wearing a white top with blue leaf-style pattern.
The driver of the vehicle was a possibly Indian man in his late 30s or early 40s with a heavy build and short, wavy hair.
