NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – One person has been charged following a collision on Wellington Road 21 in Centre Wellington Township.
On October 15, 2025, at approximately 10:45 a.m., the Wellington OPP, along with local emergency services were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision involving a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a tractor trailer at the intersection of Wellington Road 21 and Eighth Line in Centre Wellington Township, South of Inverhaugh.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was assessed on scene and did not sustain any reported injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old from Acton, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless Driving
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.
The roadway is still closed and is expected to remain closed for several more hours to allow for clean-up. As a result of the collision, these are the following road closures from the intersection:
- Wellington Road 21 from Eighth Line West to Weisenberg (West Side)
- Eighth Line West to Sixth Line East (East Side)
- Eighth Line to Sideroad 10
