Press Release – Elora Centre For the Arts
ELORA — The Elora Centre for the Arts has announced that from now through Nov. 15, every donation to its new expansion will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous community donor, up to $80,000.
This means every contribution will go twice as far — a $50 donation becomes $100, a $500 donation becomes $1,000, and so on.

“We are beyond thrilled to have the support of this generous community member at such a pivotal stage in our fundraising efforts,” said Lianne Carter, Executive Director of the Elora Centre for the Arts. “This matching campaign has the power to push us across the finish line, and we hope it inspires even more community members to contribute to our new addition, knowing their donation will now have twice the impact.”
The new 3,500-square-foot addition will feature a large, multi-purpose space for arts programs, exhibitions, performances and community gatherings. It will also include a kitchen and other hospitality spaces to support special events, as well as fully accessible spaces and washrooms — a first for the Arts Centre — so that everyone in the community can fully participate in programming and events.

More than an art gallery, the Elora Centre for the Arts is an independent, community-based charity serving people of all ages and abilities. It offers outreach programs, workshops, summer camps, performances, events, and affordable studio space for local artists and community groups.
Last year, nearly 2,500 people benefited from free or low-cost arts programs through the Arts Centre, including children and adults with (dis)abilities, teens in recovery, low-income families, and seniors in care.
“When you donate, you’re not just contributing to a building — you’re supporting a community hub that brings people together through creativity and a sense of belonging,” said Carter.
Donors who make a sizeable gift will be permanently recognized in the new addition. Recognition opportunities include:
-
Buy a Brick: Cement your legacy as a supporter of the arts with your name displayed on a plaque in the new addition. Bricks can be purchased with a one-time gift of $500, or through monthly installments of less than $20 a month from now through Dec. 2027.
-
Buy a Tree: Plant a lasting legacy in the Arts Centre yard with your name appearing on a plaque by your tree. Trees can be purchased with a one-time gift of $1,000, or through monthly installments of less than $40 a month from now through Dec. 2027.

“No matter the size, every gift makes a difference,” said Carter. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a fully accessible arts hub for our community. And with donations being matched until Nov. 15, there’s truly never been a better time to give.”
