FERGUS – In local PJHL action, the Fergus Whalers hosted the Mitchell Hawks on Friday night, defeating the Hawks by a score of 9 to 3.
Jake Lessor had 4 goals to lead the way for the Whalers.
Big offensive evenings from Joey Martin and Liam Eveleigh also contributed to the win. Rookie Carter Curran picked up the win in the Whaler net.
Back home again on Sunday, the Whalers closed out a winning weekend by defeating the Kincardine Bulldogs by a score of 5 to 2.
Cohen Robitaille, Nolan Drury and Ryan Forwell got on the scoresheet with goalkeeper Trevor Woods picking up his fourth win of the season for Fergus.
This weekend the team heads to Wingham for a game against the Ironmen on Saturday evening.
The Whalers returns home Sunday in Fergus for a match up with the Mount Forest Patriots at 3:00 pm at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
