NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent theft at a local golf course.
On October 14, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Wellington County OPP received a report from a Guelph resident regarding the theft of their wallet, while at a Guelph-Eramosa golf course earlier that day. Surveillance footage captured an unidentified suspect removing the wallet from a golf bag before departing the premises in a grey or silver Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The victim later discovered that three unauthorized transactions had been made using their credit card in a foreign country, totaling approximately $10,000.
Members of the Wellington County OPP are still investigating the incident and are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the suspect and the vehicle involved.
Suspect is described as:
- Male
- Caucasian
- Middle-aged
- Average build
- Facial hair
- Wearing a black hat, white shirt with a blue vest, black pants and white shoes.
- The suspect did not have any golf clubs with him
