NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West-Region Traffic Management Enforcement (TIME) team charge Mississauga resident, alongside a business in-relation to a traffic stop within Wellington County.
On October 28, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., the OPP West-Region TIME team was conducting proactive traffic enforcement within Wellington County and initiated a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle on Beatty Line North within the Town of Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Mississauga is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
 - Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report
 - Overweight on tires …kg – liftable axle lifted
 - Overweight dual axle …kg. Class A Highway – liftable axle lifted
 - Push rod stroke exceeds prescribed limit – commercial motor vehicle (two counts)
 - Overweight single axle (single tires) …kg. Class A Highway – liftable axle lifted
 
Additionally, a business associated to the traffic stop is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Fail to ensure performance standards are met
 - Fail to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly
 
All accused involved are scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
