FERGUS – In local PJHL action, the Fergus Whalers were in Walkerton on Friday night for the first game of a home-and-home with the Walkerton Capitals.
The Whalers prevailed by a score of 9 to 4 behind a huge offensive performance by winger Andrew McClure, who had a hat trick to go along with 2 helpers.
Cohen Robitaille (Robe it tye) and Tyler Ewald both chipped in with 3 points apiece to help lead the Whaler attack.
In the return matchup back home in Fergus Sunday, the Whalers, behind shutout goaltending by Trevor Woods, continued their winning ways with a dominating 9 to 0 victory to extend their winning streak to 6 games. Joey Martin, Ryan Forwell, Jake Lesser, and Lucas Miletic had big offensive outings for the Whalers.
Next game for Fergus is this Saturday versus the Mitchell Hawks at the William Allman Memorial Arena in Stratford, puck drop is 8:30pm.
