CENTRE WELLINGTON – Ahead of Remembrance Day next Tuesday, various events are taking place this weekend.
Starting tomorrow, the 7th annual Grand River Mustangs Remembrance Day Classic Tournament will take place all weekend in Centre Wellington.
Randy Graham, President and Poppy Chair with the Fergus Legion Branch 275, says the legion will be participating.
This is the only Remembrance Day tournament in North America, and it welcomes all B through C Rep Teams and House League Teams. The tournament is in support of the men and women who have given so much.
Meanwhile, Graham says a Remembrance Service will be held in Belwood this Sunday.
Graham also says many locations are participating in initiatives to encourage Canadians to remember.
With support from RBC, the Legion has doubled the number of Pay Tribute tap-to-donate boxes this year, allowing donors to contribute five dollars or multiples of that number by using a tap-enabled device.
The boxes are located throughout the country, including in Legion branches.
Remembrance Day is next Tuesday, November 11th. There will be services at both the Fergus and Elora Cenotaphs at 10:45 am.
