WELLINGTON COUNTY – Weekend in Wellington County sees four careless driving charges.
Over the weekend, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) carried out various proactive traffic enforcement initiatives and responded to several collisions, resulting in four drivers being charged with careless driving. As winter weather approaches, the Wellington OPP is urging all motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
On November 7th, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., following a single-motor-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 7 in Centre Wellington Township, a 27-year-old from Port Elgin is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless driving
The accused sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Court of Justice – Guelph, at a later date.
On November 7, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., following a three-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124 in Guelph-Eramosa Township, a 24-year-old from Woodbridge is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless Driving
There were no reported injuries. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Court of Justice – Guelph, at a later date.
On November 7, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., while on proactive patrol, a member of the Wellington OPP Traffic Management Unit found an individual driving carelessly on Wellington Road 123 in the Town of Minto. A 26-year-old from Palmerston is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless driving
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Court of Justice – Guelph, at a later date.
Lastly, on November 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., following a single-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 34 in Puslinch Township, a 27-year-old from Cambridge is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless Driving
There were no reported injuries. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Court of Justice – Guelph, at a later date.
