NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – Police continue to investigate a shooting in Puslinch that left one person hospitalized.
On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m., members of the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a report of a home invasion in a South-East Morriston neighbourhood.
Upon arrival, emergency services located one individual with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local trauma centre to be treated for their injuries.
Four unknown individuals fled in a four-door sedan prior to police arrival. Photos of the suspected vehicle and individuals are attached to this release.
Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident. Residents in the area will continue to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
Investigators are asking residents and motorists to provide any surveillance or dashcam footage captured on Highway 6 between Highway 401 and the QEW on Sunday, November 16, 2025, between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Footage can be uploaded digitally via the attached QR code or online at bit.ly/Morriston_Shooting. Even details that seem minor or unrelated may prove to be important.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
