MAPLETON TOWNSHIP – Police have charged a Moorefield driver following a traffic stop at a Festive RIDE spot check.
On December 8, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program on Wellington Road 11 in Mapleton Township, where they located a driver with open containers of alcohol within their vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old from Moorefield, has been charged under the Liquor License and Control Act with:
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph on a later date.
